Volunteer/Manager Registration
NMICE runs on volunteers! Whether you'd like to manage a team or simply lend a hand at games and events, register here to join our volunteer list and we'll match you with the right role. Every volunteer age 18 and older must complete USA Hockey registration, a background screening, and SafeSport training before being added to a team roster — see the requirements below.
Requirements
- Register as a USA Hockey member (free for volunteers)
- Register with NMICE as a volunteer — complete this form
- Complete a USA Hockey background screening — valid for 2 years
- Complete USA Hockey SafeSport Training — required every year
Team Managers Needed
The Team Manager supports the coaching staff — the main job is keeping parents informed about team news and schedule changes. Managers must complete a background screening and SafeSport training before any off-ice contact with players, plus the CDC Online Concussion Training each season (certificate kept in the team binder).
Manager Duties
- Maintain the team binder and bring it to every practice and game
- Prepare score sheets for home games; keep roster stickers for away games
- Line up scorekeeper and time-clock volunteers for home games
- Line up penalty-box volunteers for home and away games
- Schedule locker room monitors for all practices and games
- Coordinate the team's end-of-season celebration
Who Must Be Screened
- Coaches and team managers
- Board members and program volunteers
- Officials and locker room monitors
- Team drivers and travel chaperones
- Anyone with routine access to youth players
Volunteer Roles
