REC Registration
Congratulations on earning a spot on a 2026-27 NMICE Recreation team! Our Recreation program is the perfect next step for advanced-beginner to intermediate players who want more game and practice time without the full commitment of travel hockey. This registration confirms your player's place on the roster — complete your contact information, sign the participation agreement, and submit payment to secure their spot.
Ages
Recreation teams are offered at 8U through 18U (birth years 2008–2019).
When
The Recreation season runs from October through the end of February. Now that evaluations are complete, register to confirm your player's roster spot for the 2026-27 season.
Where
Home practices and games are held at Outpost Ice Arenas in Albuquerque. About half of league games are away, against LOEAHA teams across New Mexico — including Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, Los Alamos, and Taos — with occasional games against El Paso, Alamosa, and Durango.
Practices
Teams average about 2 hours of on-ice time per week, beginning in October.
Games
Each team plays roughly 16 Land of Enchantment (LOE) Rec League games — about half at Outpost Ice Arenas and half away — plus 2 USA Hockey-sanctioned tournaments, generally within about 6 hours' drive of Albuquerque.
Jerseys
A game jersey and socks are included in your registration fee.
Extra Costs
Registration fees vary by age: $900 for 8U, $1,400 for 10U–14U, $1,500 for 16U, and $1,600 for 18U. Each fee includes Biscuit League participation as well as a game jersey and socks. Beyond the registration fee, families should plan for travel and lodging for away games and tournaments. NMICE follows a Stay-to-Play policy, so tournament hotels must be booked through your team manager by the posted deadline.
