Travel Hockey requires players committed to more practice hours and a higher level of competition AND parents/guardians committed to higher fees and travel expenses. These teams frequently travel outside of New Mexico 1-2 times per month during the season. Players are selected to Travel Hockey rosters through a tryout evaluation process. While Travel players are encouraged to participate in their hometown House and/or REC Hockey Programs, the NMICE Travel Team roster is expected to be the player/parent/guardian priority for attendance at practices and games.

Season is SEP THRU MAR

• USA Hockey Age Divisions – 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U
• 2 teams per age division (depending upon tryout registration numbers and skill)
• Average of 4 weekly practices for AA/A and 3 weekly practices for B – all practices are at The Outpost Ice Arenas. AA/A/B teams share one practice weekly
• 1-2 Home weekend events and up to 5 travel USA Hockey Sanctioned events / tournaments requiring lengthy drive or flight and team hotel

Team rosters and schedules for practices and games will be accessible on the app. 

Managers, Coaches and NMICE will use the message and chat features of the app to communicate important information regarding the season and schedules so please check it often!

Practice schedules are posted and updated on the team calendar in the SportsEngine app. Managers will add games and modify practice schedules as changes occur.

Remember to check the schedule regularly and RSVP for practices and games in the app. If you find conflicting information, check with the team Manager and the Outpost Daily Schedule.

Sometimes practices may not always be on the same day and time as there are many users of the Outpost Ice Arenas and all of them, including NMICE, are asked to be flexible so that the Outpost can schedule games and other events. That flexibility allows all users to have the best hockey and skating experience possible. With that in mind, it is important to check the schedule on a regular basis.
